The Department of Tourism of the Istrian Region has organized the celebration of the World Tourism Day for the seventh consecutive year on October 1st - 2nd 2022. Many Istrian caterers have joined this initiative under the motto "Rethinking tourism" and offer their services for free or with discounts. On this occasion, the Roxanich Winery & Design Hotel prepares special four - course menu with 20% discount on October 2nd.
World Tourism Day has been held on 27 September each year since 1980. The date marks the anniversary of the adoption of the Statutes of the Organization in 1970, paving the way for the establishment of UNWTO five years later.
The official World Tourism Day celebration will be held in Bali, Indonesia, on 27 September, highlighting the shift towards tourism being recognized as a crucial pillar of development.
