Vins d'Olive was established in 2012 by El Khoury Souheil and Mayu Imafuku with the aim to provide the Japanese market with high-quality wine and olive oil from off-the-beaten path wine regions: the Eastern-Mediterranean, the Caucasus, Iberia, Central and Northern Europe.
Almost non-existent demand at that time for wines and olive oil from these areas has been steadily rising, reaffirming the owners' belief that the market wants something off-the beaten track. Having slipped into obscurity for much of the 20th century, these regions are now witnessing a revival that is impossible to ignore. Vins d'Olive provides a customers to step out out of their comfort zone into a world of wines and olive oil that will open their mind to new flavor horizons.
El Khoury Souheil and Mayu Imafuku are uncompromising on the quality and sustainability of the products they offer on the market. They strive to find the best products after extensive research and partner with the small-to-medium artisanal producers, focusing on organic producers.
By artisanal, they do not mean traditional with outdated equipment, but meticulous producers who “craft” their products with an eye for detail and a thirst for quality. When it is not possible, they search for like-minded producers who work sustainably. Not simply because there is an increasing demand for such products, but rather from an inherent belief – today sustained by scientific evidence – that less intervention in the vineyard and later in the winery produces the best raw ingredients. And thus, the best products.
