Gault & Millau's Review 2021

"Located in the famous food district of the Vračar neighborhood, Dimitrije is an attractive modern restaurant, convincing and exciting in every segment and with its every dish. Although it functions as one space, it manages to perfectly combine various concepts, from an open kitchen and high tables to a more intimate section and a glazed patio, with a very cozy ambience throughout the day and in the evening.

Under the name of the restaurant, the “steak & pizza” sign succinctly defines the type of cuisine offered here, so we tried some pizzas, such as the great Crostini with an intriguing mix of mushrooms, while Soprano pizza, with its powerful mix of aromas of gorgonzola, ventricina sausage and sun-dried tomato topping on the ideally thick pie was just delicious.

There is also a respectable range of steaks, from rib-eye and Black Angus to Iberico and Wagyu, and somewhere in between, you can find an inspiring selection of pasta and risotto dishes, and appetizers like goose pate and duck liver. Pork ribs and boneless lamb represent the meat dishes impeccably. The meat perfectly baked in the Mibrasa charcoal oven is juicy and so soft that it melts in your mouth.

Homemade cremeschnitte with fruit and pistachio cake served in an interesting shape arrived at our table from the cake display case, next to which is a lovely selection of quality cheeses. The impressive list of wines from Serbia, Italy, France and the neighboring region completes our dining pleasure, whereas the presence of the owner and our host during the whole experience of Dimitrije restaurant was the icing on the cake."
